Life is mostly about the pursuit of knowledge and, therefore, the collection of fun facts. • In February of 1914 the Pierstorffs of Grangeville, Idaho sent their five-year-old daughter to visit her grandmother seventy-five miles away in Lewiston via parcel post because it was cheaper than a train ticket. Little Mary Pierstorffs weighed forty-eight pounds, just under the fifty-pound limit. The charge was fifty-three cents and it was attached to the front of her coat.
